Humble yourself before the Lord!

How easily those of the world get caught up in the magic of Christmas when the true wonder is found in the miracle within CHRISTmas!

Maybe every day should be Christmas, because at Christmas we can ask:

WILL YOU HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE THE LORD?

WILL YOU LET SOMETHING OF GOD BE BORN IN YOU?

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star and have come to worship Him.” [Matthew 2:2] For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given [Isaiah 9:6] and He is WONDERFUL! When Christ is born in you your worship changes. When you find Him, it completely humbles you.

The object of our true worship is always obvious to everyone by what we are willing to change position, change priorities, and change prominence for. No matter how much we don’t like to admit it… Humans sacrifice most to and for the ONE they adore most. Love will make a person give up anything… no matter the cost if it means… there can be one moment of worship. The truth about humans is that they ALWAYS give, sacrifice, and give up their best to the object of their true, deepest and most worshipped affections.

With that in mind… where, what and who will your best worship be going to this Christmas? As with every Christmas there will be lots of worship happening this year. It will be everywhere.

The question is… Will you humble yourself before the Lord this Christmas ... or do you have something you love more?

The secret is humility. We all NEED HUMILITY AT CHRISTMAS, because humility brings us to our knees to recognize...

How Christ came to rescue us out of the mess that we were in!

How God redeemed us when we were bankrupt!

How God took all our brokenness and made us whole!

How God took off His robe of righteousness to make us righteous!

How much He loves us... so much that HE sacrificed everything for you and me!

How He ALWAYS keeps His promises!

The correct response to Jesus at Christmas and any other time is humble worship. Only one who does not know how much they’ve gained and how wonderful He is would do anything else. Jesus said it like this: If anyone comes to Me and does not hate (misei -love less, esteem less) his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. [Luke 14:26] He was describing true worship!

The bible says: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who thinks they don’t need anything to enter the kingdom of God. [Matthew 19:24] It is said that the entrance of the manger was so low that the only way to get in was on your knees!

The best way to come to Jesus is in worship!

Why is it so hard? You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. [Revelation 3:17] PRIDE LOOKS FOR MAGIC NOT AWE! Pride wants to feel good and serve self, but rarely asks: "Am I making me my god?" Pride wants to receive and be blessed but does not ‘feel like’ giving and honoring in return. Jesus Himself instructed His disciples to be humble and ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ [Acts 20:35]

This baby, born in a manger, was born to die. He didn’t die for good or perfect people who say they are worth dying for. He did not die for the rich and proud who say they have no need to come. No… He died for ALL people because ALL people are unworthy and in need of a Saviour. This makes Christmas so powerful. Jesus loves EVERYONE so much that He gladly came in the hope that people will come to Him.

This is why this Christmas you are invited again to come and HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE THE LORD for He is worthy of all our praise and worship!

The opposite of humility is PRIDE and … God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. [1 Peter 5:5] All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. [Romans 3:23] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us. [1 John 1:9] Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. [James 4:10] EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved! [Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13] But whoever disowns (arnēsētai -denies, ignores or rejects) me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. [Matthew 10:33]

Christmas is a call to humility. It's a call to worship. It’s a call to encounter Him face-to-face. It's a call to die to yourself... because that is the only way to LIVE in HIM!

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” [Matthew 6:33]

I pray you and your family have a wonderful… worship-full… and blessed Christmas!
